In value terms, Slovakia ($X) remains the key foreign market for blueberries and cranberries exports from the Czech Republic, comprising 57% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Bulgaria ($X), with a 19% share of total exports. It was followed by Germany, with a 10% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Slovakia totaled +26.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Bulgaria (+111.6% per year) and Germany (+55.7% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average blueberry and cranberry export price amounted to $X per ton, declining by -36.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 41%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2021, and then contracted markedly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hungary (+13.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Czech Republic
Blueberry and cranberry imports into the Czech Republic soared to X tons in 2022, jumping by 23% against the year before. Over the period under review, imports posted significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 136% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
In value terms, blueberry and cranberry imports expanded notably to $X in 2022. In general, imports recorded a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 67%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
Spain (X tons), Peru (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main suppliers of blueberry and cranberry imports to the Czech Republic, with a combined 65% share of total imports. Chile, Germany, the Netherlands, South Africa and Lithuania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 23%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for South Africa (with a CAGR of +179.9%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest blueberry and cranberry suppliers to the Czech Republic were Spain ($X), Peru ($X) and Poland ($X), together accounting for 62% of total imports. The Netherlands, Chile, Germany, South Africa and Lithuania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 24%.

The average blueberry and cranberry import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, dropping by -7.3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a noticeable reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the average import price increased by 28%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while the price for Lithuania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
