Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when exports increased by 23% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, chili and pepper exports totaled $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 12%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Slovakia (X tons) was the main destination for chili and pepper exports from the Czech Republic, with a 73% share of total exports. Moreover, chili and pepper exports to Slovakia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Austria (X tons), tenfold.
