In 2022, purchases abroad of chromates, dichromates and peroxochromates increased by 172% to X tons, rising for the third consecutive year after two years of decline. Overall, imports saw a notable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 828%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, chromates imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 615%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, Kazakhstan (X tons) constituted the largest chromates supplier to the Czech Republic, with a 64% share of total imports.
