In 2022, the Czech crude coconut oil market decreased by -16.8% to $X, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Slovakia (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main destinations of crude coconut oil exports from the Czech Republic, with a combined 93% share of total exports. Austria, Romania and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 3.6%.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovakia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of crude coconut (copra) oil decreased by -1% to X tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. In general, imports, however, posted a prominent increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 95%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, crude coconut oil imports fell notably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 119%. Imports peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Sri Lanka (X tons), the Philippines (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of crude coconut oil imports to the Czech Republic, together accounting for 67% of total imports. The Netherlands, Hungary, Slovenia, Vietnam and Sweden lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 30%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Slovenia (with a CAGR of +179.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
