The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 38%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, modified starches exports soared to $X in 2022. In general, exports saw a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 34%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

The United States (X tons), Italy (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main destinations of modified starches exports from the Czech Republic, together accounting for 36% of total exports. Poland, China, the Netherlands, Spain, Tunisia, Belgium, Austria, Portugal, Ukraine and Romania lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 51%.

In general, total imports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +50.5% against 2020 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, modified starches imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +80.4% against 2020 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

The Netherlands (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Ukraine (X tons) were the main suppliers of modified starches imports to the Czech Republic, together accounting for 56% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Ukraine (with a CAGR of +327.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest modified starches suppliers to the Czech Republic were Ukraine ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Germany ($X), with a combined 57% share of total imports.
