In value terms, glass fibre filament exports soared to $X in 2021. In general, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 96% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

China (X tons), the UK (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main destinations of glass fibre filament exports from the Czech Republic, with a combined 48% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Poland, Serbia, Romania, the Netherlands, Latvia, Belgium, France and Spain, which together accounted for a further 41%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Serbia (with a CAGR of +81.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, China ($X), the UK ($X) and Germany ($X) constituted the largest markets for glass fibre filament exported from the Czech Republic worldwide, together comprising 57% of total exports. Poland, Serbia, Romania, the Netherlands, Latvia, Belgium, France and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 30%.
Among the main countries of destination, Serbia, with a CAGR of +69.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average glass fibre filament export price amounted to $X per ton, surging by 7.8% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.8%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 14% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Serbia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+8.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Czech Republic
In 2021, glass fibre filament imports into the Czech Republic rose remarkably to X tons, increasing by 10% compared with the previous year's figure. In general, imports, however, showed a pronounced reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Belgium (X tons) constituted the largest glass fibre filament supplier to the Czech Republic, with a 44% share of total imports. Moreover, glass fibre filament imports from Belgium exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Slovakia (X tons), fourfold. Russia (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Belgium stood at +16.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Slovakia (-11.2% per year) and Russia (-8.5% per year).
In value terms, Belgium ($X) constituted the largest supplier of glass fibre filaments to the Czech Republic, comprising 44% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Slovakia ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Poland, with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from Belgium stood at +15.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Slovakia (-9.3% per year) and Poland (+42.5% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average glass fibre filament import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 6.3% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.9%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 35%. The import price peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while the price for Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
