The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 1,439%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Poland (X tons) was the main destination for greasy wool exports from the Czech Republic, accounting for a 93% share of total exports. Moreover, greasy wool exports to Poland exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Ghana (X kg), more than tenfold.

In 2022, greasy wool imports into the Czech Republic shrank to X tons, waning by -6.7% against 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, greasy wool imports stood at $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a pronounced curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 24% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Australia (X tons), South Africa (X tons) and the UK (X tons) were the main suppliers of greasy wool imports to the Czech Republic, with a combined 77% share of total imports. New Zealand, Chile, France, Argentina and Falkland Islands (Malvinas) lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 20%.
