Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, non-alloy steel h-sections exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, exports showed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 282% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

Exports by Country

Poland (X tons) was the main destination for non-alloy steel h-sections exports from the Czech Republic, with a 44% share of total exports. Moreover, non-alloy steel h-sections exports to Poland exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Slovakia (X tons), twofold. Germany (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 16% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Poland totaled +30.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Slovakia (+4.2% per year) and Germany (+36.5% per year).

In 2022, overseas purchases of h-sections of of non-alloy steel were finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Imports peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, non-alloy steel h-sections imports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +89.4% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 50% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

Germany (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Luxembourg (X tons) were the main suppliers of non-alloy steel h-sections imports to the Czech Republic, together comprising 91% of total imports. Austria, Romania and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 7%.
