After three years of decline, purchases abroad of hats and other headgear increased by 14% to X units in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a buoyant expansion. Imports peaked at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, hat and headgear imports soared to $X in 2022. In general, imports enjoyed a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 54% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

China (X units), Germany (X units) and Poland (X units) were the main suppliers of hat and headgear imports to the Czech Republic, together accounting for 68% of total imports. Slovakia, Greece, the Netherlands, Italy, Austria, France, Belgium and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 25%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Greece (with a CAGR of +74.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
