In general, exports continue to indicate a strong increase. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, hormones, prostaglandins, thromboxanes and leukotrienes exports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, exports posted significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 176% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Germany (X tons) was the main destination for hormones, prostaglandins, thromboxanes and leukotrienes exports from the Czech Republic, with a 66% share of total exports. In general, total imports indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.0% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -1.1% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 46%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, Ireland (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of hormones, prostaglandins, thromboxanes and leukotrienes to the Czech Republic, with a 73% share of total imports. Moreover, hormones, prostaglandins, thromboxanes and leukotrienes imports from Ireland exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X tons), fivefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Mexico (X kg), with a 2.9% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Ireland amounted to +24.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+22.7% per year) and Mexico (+9.5% per year).

In value terms, the largest hormones, prostaglandins, thromboxanes and leukotrienes suppliers to the Czech Republic were Ireland ($X), Mexico ($X) and China ($X), together comprising 57% of total imports.

Among the main suppliers, Ireland, with a CAGR of +36.7%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
