The Czech inulin market dropped to $X in 2021, declining by -15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption saw a deep contraction. Inulin consumption peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, consumption remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, overseas purchases of inulin decreased by -60% to X tons, falling for the third consecutive year after four years of growth. In general, imports continue to indicate a mild slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 76% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, inulin imports dropped rapidly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw a mild shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 57% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Belgium (X tons) constituted the largest inulin supplier to the Czech Republic, with a 72% share of total imports. Moreover, inulin imports from Belgium exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Netherlands (X tons), threefold.
