In 2021, the Czech magnesite market decreased by -9.2% to $X, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Over the period under review, consumption showed a abrupt slump. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, magnesite exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports saw significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by 3,817% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

South Africa (X tons) was the main destination for magnesite exports from the Czech Republic, accounting for a 55% share of total exports. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
