Memories Market Size in the Czech Republic

The Czech memories market shrank significantly to $X in 2021, declining by -39.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption, however, posted a noticeable increase. As a result, consumption reached the peak level of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the market remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, memories production contracted rapidly to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. In general, exports posted a temperate expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 110% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X units in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, memories exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports showed a strong expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 326% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.

Slovakia (X units), Germany (X units) and Hungary (X units) were the main destinations of memories exports from the Czech Republic, with a combined 55% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Poland, the United States, Romania, Denmark, Italy, the UK and the Netherlands, which together accounted for a further 37%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Romania (with a CAGR of +63.2%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the Netherlands ($X), Slovakia ($X) and Germany ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for memories exported from the Czech Republic worldwide, with a combined 49% share of total exports. The average memories export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, remaining constant against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 103%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Romania ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+46.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Czech Republic

In 2021, overseas purchases of multichip integrated circuits: memories decreased by -18.1% to X units, falling for the third consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, imports continue to indicate a slight setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 111%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, memories imports contracted notably to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 180%. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 64%. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2020, and then dropped in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per unit), while the price for Belgium ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
