In 2021, shipments abroad of oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids, their salts and esters decreased by -28.3% to X tons for the first time since 2016, thus ending a four-year rising trend. Overall, total exports indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 36% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons, and then contracted sharply in the following year.
In value terms, oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 69%. The exports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
Poland (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and Spain (X tons) were the main destinations of oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids exports from the Czech Republic, with a combined 94% share of total exports. Italy, Slovakia and Austria lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 6.1%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Italy (with a CAGR of +148.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Poland ($X), Hungary ($X) and Spain ($X) were the largest markets for oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids exported from the Czech Republic worldwide, with a combined 95% share of total exports.
Poland, with a CAGR of +133.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average export price for oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids, their salts and esters amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 82% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded resilient growth. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Austria (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into the Czech Republic
In 2021, oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids imports into the Czech Republic skyrocketed to X tons, jumping by 28% against 2020 figures. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a drastic downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 37% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids to the Czech Republic, accounting for a 64% share of total imports. The third position in this ranking was held by France (X tons), with a 5.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Germany totaled -8.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (+45.0% per year) and France (+9.2% per year).
In value terms, Germany ($X), France ($X) and Italy ($X) constituted the largest oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids suppliers to the Czech Republic, with a combined 78% share of total imports. These countries were followed by the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain and Austria, which together accounted for a further 17%.
The Netherlands, with a CAGR of +53.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average import price for oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids, their salts and esters amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 7.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the average import price increased by 96%. The import price peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while the price for Spain ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
