In 2021, approx. X tons of peas (dry) were exported from the Czech Republic; picking up by 36% against the previous year's figure. Overall, exports saw a resilient expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 119%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, dry peas exports surged to $X in 2021. In general, exports continue to indicate a prominent expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 56% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Germany (X tons) was the main destination for dry peas exports from the Czech Republic, with a 65% share of total exports. Moreover, dry peas exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Poland (X tons), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Austria (X tons), with a 4.5% share.

In 2021, the average dry peas export price amounted to $X per ton, rising by 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated modest growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Imports into the Czech Republic

In 2021, approx. X tons of peas (dry) were imported into the Czech Republic; falling by -10.4% compared with the previous year's figure. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a measured expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 134%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, dry peas imports declined rapidly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted a pronounced expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 121% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Slovakia (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) were the main suppliers of dry peas imports to the Czech Republic, with a combined 56% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Ukraine, Italy, Lithuania, France and Poland, which together accounted for a further 36%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Lithuania (with a CAGR of +58.0%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
