From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Slovakia (X tons) was the main destination for pineapple exports from the Czech Republic, accounting for a 96% share of total exports. It was followed by Germany (X tons), with a 2.5% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Slovakia amounted to -5.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (-15.3% per year) and Poland (-32.2% per year).

In value terms, Slovakia ($X) remains the key foreign market for pineapples exports from the Czech Republic, comprising 90% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($X), with a 6.8% share of total exports.

In 2022, approx. X tons of pineapples were imported into the Czech Republic; with a decrease of -17.1% against 2021 figures. Overall, imports showed a slight contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 25% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Moreover, pineapple imports from Costa Rica exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Belgium (X tons), threefold. Germany (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 13% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Costa Rica totaled -2.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belgium (+16.5% per year) and Germany (+6.3% per year).

From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
