Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, lamp plastic parts exports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports recorded prominent growth. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

Belgium (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main destinations of lamp plastic parts exports from the Czech Republic, together accounting for 48% of total exports. Germany, Lithuania, the UK, Slovakia, Italy, Mexico, Tunisia, Brazil, Saudi Arabia and Romania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 42%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Saudi Arabia (with a CAGR of +201.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average lamp plastic parts export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 24% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +7.2% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, lamp plastic parts export price increased by +71.4% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the average export price increased by 29%. The export price peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Imports into the Czech Republic

After three years of decline, supplies from abroad of plastic parts for lamps and lighting fittings increased by 0.4% to X tons in 2021. In general, imports, however, saw a pronounced curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 27% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, lamp plastic parts imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -29.6% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 24% against the previous year. In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest lamp plastic parts supplier to the Czech Republic, with a 48% share of total imports. Overall, import price indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.6% over the last nine years. Based on 2021 figures, lamp plastic parts import price increased by +88.9% against 2017 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 39% against the previous year.
