In value terms, preserved turkey exports soared to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, showed a deep reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 82%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Slovakia (X tons) was the main destination for preserved turkey exports from the Czech Republic, accounting for a 67% share of total exports. Moreover, preserved turkey exports to Slovakia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Germany (X tons), fivefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Romania (X tons), with a 10% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Slovakia stood at -1.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (+68.9% per year) and Romania (+14.7% per year).
In value terms, Slovakia ($X) remains the key foreign market for prepared or preserved meat or offal of turkeys exports from the Czech Republic, comprising 64% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($X), with a 20% share of total exports. It was followed by Romania, with an 8.6% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Slovakia was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (+73.7% per year) and Romania (+22.4% per year).

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hungary (+10.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Czech Republic
In 2021, purchases abroad of prepared or preserved meat or offal of turkeys increased by 4.9% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. Overall, imports, however, showed a mild contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 32%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, preserved turkey imports totaled $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a perceptible decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 33%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Poland (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) were the main suppliers of preserved turkey imports to the Czech Republic, together comprising 92% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Poland (with a CAGR of +18.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, Germany ($X), Poland ($X) and Hungary ($X) appeared to be the largest preserved turkey suppliers to the Czech Republic, together accounting for 89% of total imports.
