The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 29% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2016 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

In value terms, other chemical products exports stood at $X in 2016. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the period from 2012 to 2016; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 17% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2016, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Germany (X tons), Slovakia (X tons) and Austria (X tons) were the main destinations of other chemical products exports from the Czech Republic, with a combined 68% share of total exports. Poland, Sweden, Spain, France, Italy, Hungary and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 24%.

From 2012 to 2016, the biggest increases were recorded for Poland (with a CAGR of +37.4%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for other chemical products exported from the Czech Republic were Germany ($X), Slovakia ($X) and Poland ($X), together accounting for 55% of total exports.

In 2016, the average other chemical products export price amounted to $X per ton, with a decrease of -3.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a abrupt slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 4% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2016, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2016, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Sweden ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2016, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2016, after four years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of other chemical products, when their volume decreased by -10.2% to X tons. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% over the period from 2012 to 2016; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 14%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, other chemical products imports rose sharply to $X in 2016. In general, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2016, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2016, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest other chemical products supplier to the Czech Republic, with a 47% share of total imports. Moreover, other chemical products imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, France (X tons), sevenfold. The Netherlands (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 6.7% share.

From 2012 to 2016, the average annual growth rate of volume from Germany was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (+18.1% per year) and the Netherlands (+7.0% per year).

In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of other chemical products to the Czech Republic, comprising 36% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with a 7.7% share.

From 2012 to 2016, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Germany amounted to -3.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+20.2% per year) and the Netherlands (+2.9% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The average other chemical products import price stood at $X per ton in 2016, picking up by 23% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced decline. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2016, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2016, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while the price for Austria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2016, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovakia (+9.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
