Aircraft Propeller Market Size in the Czech Republic

In 2022, the Czech aircraft propeller market was finally on the rise to reach $X for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year declining trend. Overall, consumption, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Aircraft propeller consumption peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports from the Czech Republic

In 2022, aircraft propeller exports from the Czech Republic reduced to X tons, with a decrease of -2.5% on the year before. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a temperate increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +54.2% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 58% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons, and then reduced modestly in the following year.

In value terms, aircraft propeller exports contracted slightly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, posted a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 47% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then reduced modestly in the following year.

Exports by Country

Canada (X tons) was the main destination for aircraft propeller exports from the Czech Republic, with a 47% share of total exports. Moreover, aircraft propeller exports to Canada exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Germany (X tons), threefold. Russia (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with an 8.3% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Canada stood at +39.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (-2.1% per year) and Russia (-9.9% per year).

In value terms, Canada ($X), Germany ($X) and Algeria ($X) were the largest markets for aircraft propeller exported from the Czech Republic worldwide, together comprising 64% of total exports.

Canada, with a CAGR of +40.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the average aircraft propeller export price amounted to $X per ton, almost unchanged from the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, enjoyed a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average export price increased by 53% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Algeria ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+19.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Czech Republic

After three years of decline, purchases abroad of propellers and rotors for civil non-powered aircraft, helicopters and aeroplanes increased by 6.3% to X tons in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 54% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, aircraft propeller imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 72% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Russia (X tons), France (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of aircraft propeller imports to the Czech Republic, with a combined 71% share of total imports. The United States, the UK, Slovakia, South Africa and Austria lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 20%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by the UK (with a CAGR of +41.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Russia ($X), the United States ($X) and Germany ($X) were the largest aircraft propeller suppliers to the Czech Republic, with a combined 86% share of total imports. France, Slovakia, the UK, Austria and South Africa lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 9.9%.

Among the main suppliers, the UK, with a CAGR of +31.7%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average aircraft propeller import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, picking up by 13% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 58% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the price for South Africa ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
