Germany (X tons) was the main destination for rice bran exports from the Czech Republic, with a 98% share of total exports. It was followed by Poland (X tons), with a 0.7% share of total exports.

In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the key foreign market for rice bran exports from the Czech Republic, comprising 93% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Poland ($X), with a 2.6% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Germany amounted to +7.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Poland (-22.6% per year) and Austria (-39.2% per year).

The average rice bran export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 31% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated slight growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, rice bran export price increased by +85.6% against 2016 indices. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, after four years of decline, there was significant growth in purchases abroad of rice bran, when their volume increased by 27% to X tons. In general, imports, however, showed a drastic downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 76% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, rice bran imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt curtailment. Imports peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Germany (X tons), Brazil (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) were the main suppliers of rice bran imports to the Czech Republic, with a combined 96% share of total imports.
