The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 227% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, salts of acetic acid exports reached $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 599%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
The UK (X tons), Greece (X tons) and the United States (X tons) were the main destinations of salts of acetic acid exports from the Czech Republic, together accounting for 48% of total exports. Turkey, South Africa, Germany, Lithuania, Romania, Poland, Slovakia, Bangladesh, Egypt and Indonesia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 40%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Egypt (with a CAGR of +99.3%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the UK ($X), Greece ($X) and the United States ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for salts of acetic acid exported from the Czech Republic worldwide, with a combined 44% share of total exports. Turkey, Germany, South Africa, Romania, Poland, Slovakia, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Egypt and Lithuania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 39%.
Among the main countries of destination, Egypt, with a CAGR of +115.2%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average salts of acetic acid export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, rising by 46% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 113% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Lithuania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Indonesia (+11.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Salts Of Acetic Acid
Imports into the Czech Republic
In 2022, the amount of salts of acetic acid imported into the Czech Republic dropped to X tons, which is down by -2.9% compared with the previous year. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 67%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, salts of acetic acid imports totaled $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate resilient growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 98% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Lithuania (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of salts of acetic acid to the Czech Republic, accounting for a 66% share of total imports. Moreover, salts of acetic acid imports from Lithuania exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X tons), sevenfold. India (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 6.1% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Lithuania stood at +305.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+48.7% per year) and India (+4.9% per year).
In value terms, Lithuania ($X) constituted the largest supplier of salts of acetic acid to the Czech Republic, comprising 53% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Israel ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by China, with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Lithuania amounted to +326.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Israel (+476.2% per year) and China (+47.9% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average salts of acetic acid import price amounted to $X per ton, surging by 15% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a tangible increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, salts of acetic acid import price increased by +100.1% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 47% against the previous year. The import price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($X per ton), while the price for India ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
