The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +56.9% against 2017 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by 38%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Slovakia (X tons), Austria (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main destinations of self-adhesive paper exports from the Czech Republic, with a combined 84% share of total exports. Hungary, Poland, Romania, Finland, Slovenia and Bulgaria lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 11%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Finland (with a CAGR of +231.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 13%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, self-adhesive paper imports rose markedly to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

France (X tons), Luxembourg (X tons) and Slovakia (X tons) were the main suppliers of self-adhesive paper imports to the Czech Republic, together comprising 50% of total imports. Finland, Hungary, Poland, Germany and Italy lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 41%.
