Germany (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and Slovakia (X tons) were the main destinations of soap exports from the Czech Republic, together comprising 52% of total exports. Austria, Poland, Romania, Russia, Croatia, Switzerland, France, Italy, Sweden and Ukraine lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 36%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Switzerland (with a CAGR of +65.9%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Croatia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Switzerland (+14.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Czech Republic
After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of soap decreased by -7.3% to X tons in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.1% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 27%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2020, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, soap imports rose sharply to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, saw strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of soap to the Czech Republic, with a 42% share of total imports. Moreover, soap imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Poland (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by Pakistan (X tons), with a 9.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Germany amounted to +9.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (+6.5% per year) and Pakistan (+172.7% per year).
In value terms, Germany ($X), Poland ($X) and Belgium ($X) appeared to be the largest soap suppliers to the Czech Republic, with a combined 62% share of total imports. France, Pakistan, Slovakia, Turkey, the UK, Italy, Spain, China and Ukraine lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 27%.
Among the main suppliers, Pakistan, with a CAGR of +177.2%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average soap import price amounted to $X per ton, growing by 21% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.0%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+16.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
