Synthetic Latex Rubber Market Size in the Czech Republic

After two years of decline, the Czech synthetic latex rubber market increased by 44% to $X in 2021. Overall, consumption, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the market hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, consumption failed to regain momentum.

Synthetic latex rubber exports from the Czech Republic reduced sharply to X tons in 2021, waning by -75.2% compared with the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 1,039% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, synthetic latex rubber exports fell rapidly to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, enjoyed perceptible growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 364% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Slovakia (X tons), Papua New Guinea (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main destinations of synthetic latex rubber exports from the Czech Republic, with a combined 71% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Belgium, Hungary and Poland, which together accounted for a further 24%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Hungary (with a CAGR of +168.5%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for synthetic latex rubber exported from the Czech Republic were Slovakia ($X), Papua New Guinea ($X) and Belgium ($X), together comprising 59% of total exports. These countries were followed by Hungary, Germany and Poland, which together accounted for a further 23%.

Hungary, with a CAGR of +119.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average synthetic latex rubber export price amounted to $X per ton, jumping by 61% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced reduction. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Greece (+60.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Czech Republic

After two years of decline, supplies from abroad of synthetic latex rubber increased by 12% to X tons in 2021. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 12% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, synthetic latex rubber imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a slight slump. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2021, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest synthetic latex rubber supplier to the Czech Republic, accounting for a 71% share of total imports. Moreover, synthetic latex rubber imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Italy (X tons), sixfold. Poland (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Germany totaled +5.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (+34.4% per year) and Poland (+3.5% per year).

In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of synthetic latex rubber to the Czech Republic, comprising 66% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Italy ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Poland, with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Germany stood at +1.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (+30.9% per year) and Poland (-0.2% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The average synthetic latex rubber import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, jumping by 46% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible shrinkage. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per ton), while the price for Germany ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+34.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
