In 2022, the Czech cotton table linen market decreased by -13.1% to $X, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, consumption recorded a deep slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 75% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, cotton table linen exports expanded markedly to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed a pronounced setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 29%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Germany (X tons) was the main destination for cotton table linen exports from the Czech Republic, accounting for a 69% share of total exports. Moreover, cotton table linen exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Denmark (X tons), fivefold. The average cotton table linen export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a mild expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Imports into the Czech Republic

After three years of decline, supplies from abroad of table linen of cotton increased by 21% to X tons in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate pronounced growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 49% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, cotton table linen imports soared to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

China (X tons), India (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main suppliers of cotton table linen imports to the Czech Republic, with a combined 71% share of total imports. Pakistan, Spain, Germany, Bangladesh and Austria lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 25%.
