Slovakia (X tons) was the main destination for tin exports from the Czech Republic, with a 73% share of total exports. Moreover, tin exports to Slovakia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Germany (X tons), threefold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Slovakia stood at -39.8%.
In value terms, Slovakia ($X) remains the key foreign market for tin exports from the Czech Republic, comprising 76% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with a 24% share of total exports.

In 2022, the average tin export price amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 20% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average export price increased by 46% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany totaled $X per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovakia (+7.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Tin Imports
Imports into the Czech Republic
In 2022, the amount of tin imported into the Czech Republic declined sharply to X tons, waning by -71.2% compared with 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a pronounced reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 219%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then declined notably in the following year.
In value terms, tin imports dropped notably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 141%. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Indonesia (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Brazil (X tons) were the main suppliers of tin imports to the Czech Republic, with a combined 79% share of total imports. Germany, Spain, Slovakia and Rwanda lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 20%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Spain (with a CAGR of +28.0%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Indonesia ($X), Poland ($X) and Brazil ($X) constituted the largest tin suppliers to the Czech Republic, together accounting for 80% of total imports. Germany, Slovakia, Rwanda and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 20%.
Slovakia, with a CAGR of +32.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, import price indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($X per ton), while the price for Spain ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
