The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +66.3% against 2018 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 39%. The exports peaked at X tons in 2020, and then declined in the following year.

In value terms, toilet paper exports rose sharply to $X in 2021. In general, total exports indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.7% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +102.2% against 2017 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by 47%. The exports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

Slovakia (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main destinations of toilet paper exports from the Czech Republic, with a combined 71% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Slovakia amounted to +2.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (+9.7% per year) and Austria (+4.6% per year).

As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
