The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 29%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, rubber tube and pipe exports soared to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

Germany (X tons) was the main destination for rubber tube and pipe exports from the Czech Republic, accounting for a 32% share of total exports. Moreover, rubber tube and pipe exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Austria (X tons), twofold. France (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with an 8.8% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Germany amounted to +7.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Austria (+5.5% per year) and France (+4.1% per year).

In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 12%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, rubber tube and pipe imports surged to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Poland (X tons), Austria (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of rubber tube and pipe imports to the Czech Republic, together accounting for 45% of total imports. These countries were followed by Thailand, Italy, Turkey, South Korea, China, France, the UK, Romania, Serbia and Bulgaria, which together accounted for a further 44%.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by 21% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Romania ($X per ton), while the price for Austria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
