The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 54% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, vegetable puree exports dropped to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 84% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2021, and then fell in the following year.

Exports by Country

Slovakia (X tons) was the main destination for vegetable puree exports from the Czech Republic, accounting for a 47% share of total exports. Moreover, vegetable puree exports to Slovakia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Germany (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Hungary (X tons), with a 13% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Slovakia stood at +6.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (+45.1% per year) and Hungary (+148.5% per year).

Over the period under review, imports faced a abrupt setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 27% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
