Walnut Market Size in the Czech Republic

In 2021, the Czech walnut market increased by 46% to $X for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, consumption continues to indicate a perceptible expansion. Slovakia (X tons) was the main destination for walnut exports from the Czech Republic, accounting for a 96% share of total exports. It was followed by Germany (X kg), with a 2.4% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Slovakia stood at +115.7%.

In value terms, Slovakia ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for walnut exports from the Czech Republic, comprising 93% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with a 3.8% share of total exports.

Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, walnut imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 67%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
