Slovakia (X tons) was the main destination for yoghurt exports from the Czech Republic, accounting for a 39% share of total exports. Moreover, yoghurt exports to Slovakia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Poland (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Spain (X tons), with a 14% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Slovakia was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Poland (+14.4% per year) and Spain (+15.7% per year).
In value terms, Slovakia ($X), Poland ($X) and Spain ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for yoghurt exported from the Czech Republic worldwide, with a combined 72% share of total exports. Italy, Hungary, the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Sweden and Austria lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 22%.
In terms of the main countries of destination, Hungary, with a CAGR of +19.2%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average yoghurt export price amounted to $X per ton, reducing by -4.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by 9.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2021, and then contracted modestly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Sweden ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Finland (+5.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Czech Republic
In 2022, after two years of growth, there was decline in overseas purchases of yoghurt, when their volume decreased by -0.8% to X tons. In general, imports showed a slight contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, yoghurt imports contracted slightly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports saw a slight reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 21%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Germany (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Slovakia (X tons) were the main suppliers of yoghurt imports to the Czech Republic, together accounting for 91% of total imports. Austria and Greece lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 3.8%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Greece (with a CAGR of +6.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, Germany ($X), Poland ($X) and Slovakia ($X) constituted the largest yoghurt suppliers to the Czech Republic, together accounting for 87% of total imports. Greece and Austria lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 4.4%.
Among the main suppliers, Greece, with a CAGR of +4.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Greece ($X per ton), while the price for Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
