Germany (X tons) was the main destination for beer exports from Denmark, with a 36% share of total exports. Moreover, beer exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Italy (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Sweden (X tons), with a 10% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Germany amounted to -5.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Italy (+4.5% per year) and Sweden (+5.6% per year).
In value terms, the largest markets for beer exported from Denmark were Italy ($X), Germany ($X) and Burkina Faso ($X), together accounting for 66% of total exports. These countries were followed by Sweden, Norway, Canada, France, Guinea and Ghana, which together accounted for a further 18%.
Among the main countries of destination, Guinea, with a CAGR of +58.1%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average beer export price amounted to $X per ton, declining by -5.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a slight decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 12%. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Sweden ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Burkina Faso (+1.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Denmark
In 2022, approx. X tons of beer were imported into Denmark; growing by 3.5% against the year before. Overall, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +46.1% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 31%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
In value terms, beer imports dropped remarkably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 32%. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.
Imports by Country
Sweden (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main suppliers of beer imports to Denmark, with a combined 52% share of total imports. These countries were followed by France, the Netherlands, Finland, Belgium, the UK, Italy, Estonia, Mexico, the United States and the Czech Republic, which together accounted for a further 41%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Finland (with a CAGR of +96.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Sweden ($X), Germany ($X) and the Netherlands ($X) appeared to be the largest beer suppliers to Denmark, together comprising 41% of total imports. Poland, the UK, Belgium, France, the United States, Finland, Italy, Mexico, Estonia and the Czech Republic lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 49%.
Finland, with a CAGR of +94.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average beer import price amounted to $X per ton, with a decrease of -22% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a perceptible shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average import price increased by 15%. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the price for Germany ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+4.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
