In 2021, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in the Danish other cereals market, when its value decreased by -19% to $X. In value terms, other cereals exports declined dramatically to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, showed a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 667%. The exports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Germany (X tons), Sweden (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) were the main destinations of other cereals exports from Denmark, together comprising 76% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +57.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Sweden ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Germany ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for other cereals exported from Denmark worldwide, with a combined 72% share of total exports.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Finland ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Lithuania (+6.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Denmark
In 2021, supplies from abroad of other cerealses decreased by -50% to X tons, falling for the third year in a row after four years of growth. Over the period under review, imports showed a pronounced decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 55%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, other cereals imports reduced dramatically to $X in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 70%. Imports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Poland (X tons) constituted the largest other cereals supplier to Denmark, accounting for a 69% share of total imports. Moreover, other cereals imports from Poland exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), fourfold. Peru (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 3.9% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Poland stood at +56.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (-14.5% per year) and Peru (+27.2% per year).
In value terms, Poland ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Germany ($X) were the largest other cereals suppliers to Denmark, with a combined 51% share of total imports. Peru, Sweden and Lithuania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 22%.
In terms of the main suppliers, Sweden, with a CAGR of +48.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average other cereals import price amounted to $X per ton, surging by 28% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a temperate increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, other cereals import price increased by +87.7% against 2018 indices. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per ton), while the price for Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
