In 2021, the Danish champagne market increased by 74% to $X, rising for the fourth year in a row after two years of decline. Over the period under review, consumption recorded a strong expansion. After two years of growth, overseas shipments of champagne decreased by -9.1% to X tons in 2021. In general, exports, however, posted strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 64%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2020, and then dropped in the following year.

Sweden (X tons), France (X tons) and Lithuania (X tons) were the main destinations of champagne exports from Denmark, together comprising 46% of total exports.
