Norway (X tons), Estonia (X tons) and Sweden (X tons) were the main destinations of sulphite wood pulp exports from Denmark, with a combined 88% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Iceland, Germany and Greenland, which together accounted for a further 12%.

In 2021, imports of chemical wood pulp (sulphite, other than dissolving grades) into Denmark shrank to X tons, dropping by -9.1% compared with 2020 figures. Over the period under review, imports recorded a perceptible slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 7.8% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, sulphite wood pulp imports reduced to $X in 2021. In general, imports recorded a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 14%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, Germany (X tons) was the main sulphite wood pulp supplier to Denmark, accounting for a 92% share of total imports. Moreover, sulphite wood pulp imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Sweden (X tons), more than tenfold.
