Exports by Country
Poland (X tons) was the main destination for green coffee exports from Denmark, accounting for a 88% share of total exports. Moreover, green coffee exports to Poland exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Australia (X tons), more than tenfold. Italy (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 2.1% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Poland stood at +292.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Australia (+416.0% per year) and Italy (+68.7% per year).
In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the key foreign market for coffee (green) exports from Denmark, comprising 81% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Australia ($X), with a 5.1% share of total exports. It was followed by Italy, with a 3.2% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Poland totaled +279.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Australia (+271.7% per year) and Italy (+69.1% per year).

In 2022, the average green coffee export price amounted to $X per ton, waning by -3% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 30%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Iceland ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Sweden ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iceland (+14.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in purchases abroad of coffee (green), when their volume increased by 7.3% to X tons. In general, imports, however, saw a slight decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 16% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, green coffee imports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a slight increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +81.0% against 2020 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
Brazil (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Uganda (X tons) were the main suppliers of green coffee imports to Denmark, together accounting for 54% of total imports. Mexico, Vietnam, Honduras, Ethiopia, Colombia, Peru, Sweden, Nicaragua, Tanzania and India lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 35%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Nicaragua (with a CAGR of +18.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest green coffee suppliers to Denmark were Brazil ($X), Germany ($X) and Mexico ($X), together accounting for 54% of total imports. Colombia, Honduras, Uganda, Peru, Ethiopia, Vietnam, Sweden, Nicaragua, Tanzania and India lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 32%.
Nicaragua, with a CAGR of +19.5%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average green coffee import price amounted to $X per ton, growing by 41% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, green coffee import price increased by +86.1% against 2019 indices. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($X per ton), while the price for Vietnam ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+12.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
