In value terms, fiberboard exports declined slightly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 66% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then dropped slightly in the following year.

Sweden (X cubic meters), France (X cubic meters) and Germany (X cubic meters) were the main destinations of fiberboard exports from Denmark, with a combined 52% share of total exports. Norway, Faroe Islands, the Philippines, Belgium, the United States, Spain, Austria, Finland, Poland and Iceland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 41%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for the Philippines (with a CAGR of +129.2%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for fiberboard exported from Denmark were Sweden ($X), France ($X) and Norway ($X), with a combined 49% share of total exports. The average fiberboard export price stood at $X per cubic meter in 2022, declining by -1.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a pronounced downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 66%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $X per cubic meter in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Norway ($X per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to the Philippines ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Faroe Islands (+2.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, after eight years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of fiber board of wood or other ligneous materials, when their volume decreased by -30.5% to X cubic meters. Overall, imports, however, showed a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 58%. Imports peaked at X cubic meters in 2021, and then plummeted in the following year.
In value terms, fiberboard imports dropped to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 32% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then contracted in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Germany (X cubic meters) constituted the largest fiberboard supplier to Denmark, with a 38% share of total imports. Moreover, fiberboard imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Poland (X cubic meters), twofold. The Netherlands (X cubic meters) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 14% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Germany stood at +10.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (+13.6% per year) and the Netherlands (+28.4% per year).

The average fiberboard import price stood at $X per cubic meter in 2022, growing by 25% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by 26% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per cubic meter. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Norway ($X per cubic meter), while the price for Sweden ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Norway (+11.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
