In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in the Danish fig market, when its value decreased by -7.6% to $X. Sweden (X tons), Norway (X tons) and Finland (X tons) were the main destinations of fig exports from Denmark, together comprising 91% of total exports.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Iceland ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Norway ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iceland (+8.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of figs was finally on the rise to reach X tons after three years of decline. Overall, imports, however, showed a perceptible setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 46%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, fig imports shrank to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a mild slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 64% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, Turkey (X tons) constituted the largest fig supplier to Denmark, accounting for a 46% share of total imports. Moreover, fig imports from Turkey exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Spain (X tons), twofold. Germany (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 15% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Turkey stood at -5.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Spain (-1.4% per year) and Germany (+6.4% per year).

As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton, and then dropped in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while the price for Sweden ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
