As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.
In value terms, plastic furniture exports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports enjoyed a resilient expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 48% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
Exports by Country
Germany (X units) was the main destination for plastic furniture exports from Denmark, accounting for a 41% share of total exports. Moreover, plastic furniture exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Sweden (X units), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by France (X units), with an 8.2% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Germany totaled +19.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Sweden (+0.9% per year) and France (+27.1% per year).
In value terms, Germany ($X), Sweden ($X) and France ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for plastic furniture exported from Denmark worldwide, together comprising 45% of total exports. These countries were followed by Norway, the United States, the Netherlands, the UK, Switzerland, Poland, Finland, Italy, Belgium and Spain, which together accounted for a further 46%.

In 2021, the average plastic furniture export price amounted to $X per unit, dropping by -8.3% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average export price increased by 43%. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Germany ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+10.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of furniture of plastic increased by 37% to X units, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. Overall, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +39.6% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 37% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, plastic furniture imports soared to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest plastic furniture supplier to Denmark, accounting for a 42% share of total imports. Moreover, plastic furniture imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Israel (X units), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Poland (X units), with a 14% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China amounted to +2.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Israel (+32.5% per year) and Poland (+28.1% per year).

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 2.7%. Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while the price for Italy ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
