Imports peaked at X tons in 2020, and then dropped modestly in the following year.
In value terms, imports of internal combustion engines, excluding diesel (other than for motor vehicles and aircraft) surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 78% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of reached the maximum in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.

Sweden (X tons), Japan (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of imports of internal combustion engines, excluding diesel (other than for motor vehicles and aircraft) to Denmark, together accounting for 59% of total imports. Belgium, China, the Netherlands, France, the United States, Italy, Poland, Lithuania and Thailand lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 35%.
