There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Latvia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports into Denmark
Phosphorus, arsenic and selenium imports into Denmark skyrocketed to X tons in 2021, increasing by 2,360% compared with the previous year. Overall, imports showed a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 10,181%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
In value terms, phosphorus, arsenic and selenium imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports saw a significant increase. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Poland (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of phosphorus, arsenic and selenium to Denmark, with a 2.6% share of total imports. Moreover, phosphorus, arsenic and selenium imports from Poland exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Netherlands (X tons), fourfold. Germany (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 0.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Poland totaled +29.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (+79.0% per year) and Germany (+93.8% per year).
In value terms, the Netherlands ($X), France ($X) and Poland ($X) were the largest phosphorus, arsenic and selenium suppliers to Denmark, with a combined 5.8% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Germany, which accounted for a further 0.6%.
Germany, with a CAGR of +104.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average phosphorus, arsenic and selenium import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, with a decrease of -45.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a significant decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 82% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while the price for Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
