Over the period under review, total exports indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.9% over the last nine-year period. Silicone imports into Denmark surged to X tons in 2021, rising by 15% compared with the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 37% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, silicone imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest silicone supplier to Denmark, with a 50% share of total imports. Moreover, silicone imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Sweden (X tons), twofold. Belgium (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 9.4% share.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while the price for Belgium ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
