The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 799%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, snail imports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a strong expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 1,833%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, Vietnam (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of snail to Denmark, with a 63% share of total imports. Moreover, snail imports from Vietnam exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, France (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by the Netherlands (X kg), with an 8.4% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Vietnam totaled +53.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (+14.7% per year) and the Netherlands (+20.4% per year).

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kenya (+21.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
