Tanker Market Size in Denmark

In 2021, after five years of growth, there was significant decline in the Danish tanker market, when its value decreased by -23.5% to $X. Over the period under review, consumption, however, enjoyed significant growth. As a result, consumption reached the peak level of $X, and then reduced markedly in the following year.

Imports into Denmark

In 2021, after four years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of tankers, when their volume decreased by -22.5% to X units. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 700%. Imports peaked at X units in 2020, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, tanker imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, saw a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 973% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

Marshall Islands (X units), South Korea (X units) and Greece (X units) were the main suppliers of tanker imports to Denmark, together comprising 58% of total imports. These countries were followed by Liberia, China, Hong Kong SAR and Singapore, which together accounted for a further 35%.
