Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Germany (X tons), Faroe Islands (X tons) and Sweden (X tons) were the main destinations of vinegar-preserved vegetable exports from Denmark, with a combined 68% share of total exports.

Imports into Denmark
In 2022, overseas purchases of vegetables in vinegar other than potatoes decreased by -27% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after three years of growth. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -28.5% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 54% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, vinegar-preserved vegetable imports contracted markedly to $X in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 44%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2021, and then fell notably in the following year.

In 2022, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest vinegar-preserved vegetable supplier to Denmark, accounting for a 39% share of total imports. Moreover, vinegar-preserved vegetable imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Sweden (X tons), twofold.
