Imports peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, yoghurt imports shrank slightly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a mild decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 29% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Germany (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and Sweden (X tons) were the main suppliers of yoghurt imports to Denmark, together comprising 73% of total imports. Greece, Italy, the Czech Republic, Austria and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 23%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Italy (with a CAGR of +87.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were Greece ($X per ton) and Germany ($X per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($X per ton) and Poland ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
