Italy (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Japan (X tons) were the main destinations of green coffee exports from the Dominican Republic, together comprising 67% of total exports.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Japan ($X per ton) and Spain ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($X per ton) and Germany ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Dominican Republic
In 2022, approx. X tons of coffee (green) were imported into the Dominican Republic; with a decrease of -9.6% compared with 2021. In general, imports, however, saw significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 391% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, green coffee imports fell markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 431%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Brazil (X tons), Vietnam (X tons) and Nicaragua (X tons) were the main suppliers of green coffee imports to the Dominican Republic, with a combined 81% share of total imports. Peru, Colombia and Honduras lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 18%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Colombia (with a CAGR of +221.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Brazil ($X) constituted the largest supplier of coffee (green) to the Dominican Republic, comprising 52% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Vietnam ($X), with a 24% share of total imports. It was followed by Colombia, with a 7.8% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Brazil amounted to +74.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Vietnam (+10.1% per year) and Colombia (+222.0% per year).

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Colombia ($X per ton), while the price for Nicaragua ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
