In value terms, frozen freshwater fish imports reduced remarkably to $X in 2021. Overall, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 77% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest frozen freshwater fish supplier to the Dominican Republic, with a 41% share of total imports.
