The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 100%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, fungicide and bactericide imports expanded markedly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, showed a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 77% against the previous year. China (X tons), Colombia (X tons) and the United States (X tons) were the main suppliers of fungicide and bactericide imports to the Dominican Republic, together accounting for 58% of total imports.
